He often mixes styles in his sets, breakbeat, hip-hop, ebm, electrofunk, techno, building his own vision, believing that today there is not a unique path to follow, but a multi directional vision in terms of musical influences.
In the mid-nineties, he found himself playing mostly to the underground scene and then quickly became involved in events organisation, running the Escobar, Geneva, a basement devoted to electronic culture and live performances, located under a squatted four storey house.
Always curious and interested in all kinds of musical forms, he naturally turned himself at the beginning of 1994 to spinning records, under different names, finally choosing that of Lagardère.
Growing up in a family steeped in classical music and jazz - his father was a professional classical trumpet player during forty years in L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande - he started to learn music when he was six, and started practising the trombone at eleven.
Then, with his appetite for rhythm still growing, his non-stop passion for music brought him to take drum and piano lessons, as well as singing courses.
Today he is running different projects. He is working on his own tracks under the name of Lagardère, composing since 1998 for the band Subtone Trio, and has also started as the lead singer to play and produce with new bands: The Living Dead Boys, Anachron - in collaboration with dj Lemercier -, and a Berlin based project with C.H.I.F.F.R.E called The Secret Society.
Most of time he writes the music for all the bands except The Secret Society, and has already released two albums with Subtone Trio, a project mixing jazz and electrobeats. They released their first album «Load» in June 2000 and a single on Imago Records, including a progressive house remix by Chab.
In 2003 the band won the Diesel-U-Music award and released their second album «Featuring» in 2004 on Vanina Hänin recommends.
He is working in this band with his father, who plays the trumpet. They are, as they describe themselves, definitively a jazz band playing on electro beats rather than an electronic band playing jazz. He also founded Electrobeast which has made a few live performances mostly in galleries and experimental events over the last two years ; Sauna, which oscillated between dancefloor tracks and experimental, and is also working with Romain A. Challandes for a musical weird performance called: Lagardère and The Ultimate Crooner.
"Modern Hedonists", a definitively fourtothefloor really melodic trio-live project was born in 2007 from the shared passion for music with Dollar Mambo and Romainville.
Freshly awarded from the ESBA, Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts - Genève - cinema section, he has written and shot eleven short films, including «Two», which has been shown at different film festivals such as Hors-Circuit Paris-Berlin, and The Media School Festival, Lodz - National Cinema School of Poland.
He never divided his cinema work, photography, writings, installations, and musical explorations, because these mediums are, for him, constantly linked together, and a great source of inspiration each one for the other.
