BIOGRAPHY

Liviu is an artist constantly developing new sounds and rhythms, taking electronic music a step further. His work is the result of electronic experimentation specialising in psycho-sexy, hot-and spicy, fat-grooving, booty-shaking techno music.

With his surprising Tech-House DJ sets or his psycho-active LIVE performances, this minimal- techno Shaman certainly knows how to hypnotize a dance floor

Liviu Groza was born in Bucarest, Romania and moved to Switzerland. As a teenager, his musical tastes ranged from Led Zep to Easy-E. In his Walkman, James Brown was jamming around with Funkadelic and Brian Eno. He played guitar in Bazar de Nuit, a jazzy French singing band. During this period, Liviu developed a profound love of funky rhythms, hypnotic grooves and strange melodies.

Then, as the tale goes, one late summer evening, a friend forced him into his first techno party. The Big Electronic Revelation banged on his poor unprepared head. He was astounded by the power and the heat generated by the electronic beats and by the pleasure people were taking dancing. That night, he found a meaning to his life: make music to make’em dance !

Along with other minimal-techno afficionados (Laps and Gregorythm from Digitaline, Fred, etc.), Liviu founded the party-colletive 34m2. For years now, they have thrown the best parties in the western part of Switzerland, building themselves a reputation thanks not only to the musical quality of their line-ups, but also because their parties always turn into lovely and decadent freakshows.

Liviu has played in the best Swiss clubs (Dachkantine, Hive, Loft, Piping club, etc.) and around at top European events.

During one of his live-acts, Liviu was spotted by Lee Van Dowksi. This encounter gave way to Liviu’s first EP « Pink Suit Thiller ». It came out in June 2007 on the well-known label Num Records, owned by Lee Van Dowski and Quenum. The record got very good feedback throughout the world and was underlined by artists like Someone Else, Jeremy P. Caulfield, Mathias Kaden ou Vincent Lemieux who support his work.

Liviu now lives in Berlin where he works in his studio and is about to release his second EP, «Samedi après-midi» on the German label Minimood.

Liviu knows how to make crowds dance !
